Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. Miley has five brothers and sisters, two of whom are older and a younger sibling. Miley's parents named her with the hope that she would be successful. Her childhood nickname, Smiley, due to her cheerful personality later changed to Miley. Her paternal grandpa was Democratic politician Ron Cyrus. Cyrus began her education at Heritage Elementary School located in Tennessee. At the age of eighteen, Cyrus and her family moved to Toronto in Canada where Billy Ray, Cyrus's father, starred as Doc (2001) on TV. In the same year, Cyrus also decided to become an actor. The first time she acted was alongside her dad as Doc Doc (2001). Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003), in which she played the role of a lesser-known character, was also a success. Cyrus was as a character in Hannah Montana (2006) (a Disney show that follows a teenager woman who lives a double life singing) in the role of Hannah Montana, who is the protagonist. The father of her character was back along with the show. The show went down a storm and hits records, sell-out tours and merchandising deals soon followed. Cyrus quickly became a star in the eyes of teens. Following the popularity in Hannah Montana 2006, Cyrus changed characters. Cyrus played Ronnie Miller and Lola alongside Demi Moore in The Last Song 2010 and LOL 2012.
