Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island known as West Island. Many people unfamiliar with the word frequently think that there is a separate island to the west of Montreal However, in reality it's a part of the city that's west. West Island is home to every aspect of Lachine west to the Lachine city. Lachine west. Amanda Brugel grew up on this island, and it is commonly called her birthplace. But she only resided there for a very short duration. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa. The first goal she had was to become an actress, However, following a dramatic growth spurt her partners weren't able to dance with her. Numerous former dancers choose to become actors. In Brugel's case it was the guidance of her drama teacher at high school that led her in the direction she needed. One of her teachers suggested she audition for an annual school production. The school's production was a success and she was selected to play the main part for Anne of Green Gables after she had a go at. This led to her being awarded an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000 she graduated with a BA in Fine Arts at York University. Since then, she's appeared performing in over 60 plays, large and small. The most notable was when she landed Rita's role on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian cast member during Season 1 of the series, and only seen occasionally.
